A violent forbidden love story in the heart of the Rust Belt. High school student Brad Levin and his guidance counselor Mindy are having a secret affair. When the school's principal, Tommy Tomasetti, discovers their romance, he threatens Brad and Mindy. If Brad and Mindy don't break off their relationship, Tomasetti will turn in Mindy to the police and do everything in his power to ruin Brad's life. Brad can't accept the thought of losing Mindy, so he plans a prank to scare Tomasetti into leaving them alone. When Tomasetti refuses to ignore Brad and Mindy's relationship, the plan turns to horrific violence. Brad's two best friends are complicit in the crime. When they try to figure out how to get away with it, their friendships break down along racial and economic fault lines. Can they stick together to stay out of jail?
