Eight segments by an international array of directors. A terrorist attack by the Palestinian Black September Organization brutally overshadowed these Olympic Games and their remarkable athletic exploits. Eleven Israeli athletes and coaches and a West German police officer died at the hands of the group, five of whom were also killed. Only Schlesinger, in his segment concerning the marathon, touches on this outrage.
