Valentino's Ghost

An attacker pepper-sprayed a group of Syrian refugees as they were welcomed to a Muslim Community Centre. Valentino's Ghost explores the portrayal of the Arabic person -- from silent film romanticism (Sheik of Araby), through exoticism (Lawrence of Arabia) to today's Crusader racism (American Sniper) -- and relates this portrayal to US foreign policy.
