Ukigumo

Yukiko (Takamine) embarks on a passionate affair with the married Kengo (Mori Masayuki) during World War II in Southeast Asia. As she returns from French Indochina to the bombed-out ruins of postwar Japan, she clings to hopes of resuming their obsessive romance amid widespread deprivation, drifting between haunting memories and harsh reality.
