I absolutely loved this movie. The intensity is unmatched in this extremely well-crafted, intelligent and psychologically powerful storyline. I wasn't expecting a film so intense! A must-see!

A true cinematic feat. Upon initially reading the screenplay, I found it hard to believe that a film of this nature could be pulled off. It's a sort of bottled thriller that nevertheless keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Ingenious, original and unexpected. A top-notch Canadian movie, to boot.

One of the best films I've ever seen! It's incredibly moving, with a rock-solid script and powerful dialogue. The film probably didn't cost much to make, but it's rich in quality! Well done!!!

A very well done low budget film. Very engaging plot and an overall success.

It was such a good movie, you don't see movies like this anymore. It was truly a masterpiece! 10-10.

Treed Murray is an absolute must-see movie, although it's a bit harder to find in French Canada, but oh well. Kudos to the actors. I'll admit the crow gang was a bit off-topic, but that's just a minor detail. The movie's context is realistic; it's not another one of those Bruce Willis movies where the world is in peril (don't you think there are too many of those?). This movie is an absolute must-see. But what are you doing on this webpage? Go rent it right now!

Treed Murray is by far one of the best movies I've seen. In fact, I enjoyed it as much the second, third, fourth time I watched as I did the first. A brillant script combined with suberb acting and subtle direction made Treed Murray such a good film.

I thought this movie was excellent. It just goes to show you don't need a lot of different settings to make a good film. The one thing that bugged me was the group of crows roaming around at night - I didn't see the point of that. Still, I'm giving it a 10 because it's definitely worth watching :).

Treed Murray would have to be THE BEST movie I've seen all year! Sure, being Canadian does make me a little partial to Canadian movies, but I was amazed an astounded at the vibrant and colourful images... I was especially surprised to find that the TREE had been constructed, it looked SOOO REAL! A simple story with a simple plot, but the psychological warfare that ensues is nothing but "simple". A definite MUST-SEE!!!

This is a good film! Good, solid performances. A clever idea that is well carried out. The images were rather bland, but that is really the only down-side. Good solid screenwriting for a change, too. One of the best of this year's Genie crop. Definitely worth seeing.

I really enjoyed this canadian movie. IT is a drama that makes you reflect on life... I also liked the play on words. I recommend it to people who like to have some substance in a movie.

This movie is perfect from all aspects. The story is simple... but brilliant. Even the play from the actors prooves that you dont always need science fiction to get a good movie. Only 7 actors... a tree and a nice story with good details. Go see it!

This is a great film with a highly original storyline. It shows that you don't need a huge Hollywood budget, a weepy plot, talking animals, or a sequel-style title to create quality cinema. With a modest budget and a small cast, they've made an excellent movie. I recommend checking it out - it's refreshing to see that Canadian filmmaking still has something unique to offer.

I was disappointed by this movie. I had been looking forward to it, as something Canadian and different, instead of the same-old Hollywood stuff. But I couldn't make sense of it. (I wish this comments page had a section for people who've seen a film to discuss it and ask questions without having to worry about revealing the movie's content.) Anyway, to get on to the questions: why is the park empty? It looks like a really nice day, where is everybody? Why do two of the muggers have American accents, at least part of the time? Are they supposed to be visiting from the States or are the actors just copying gangsta-rap they've seen on Much Music? Does Toronto have muggers? If so, does it have muggers like those in the film? Next question--why does the businessman throw his wallet down from the tree right at the beginning? How does it help him? It seems strange. Anyway, I left after about twenty minutes, because I couldn't stand it.

This was an unusual but very good movie. The acting is excellent even though there is little action. It is one of those canadian movies that makes you think about it long after the movie is over. It is worth seeing especially if you are in the mood for an intelligent movie.

This film does an excellent job of keeping the camera confined within the park, specifically the tree where Murray is hiding. I'm usually not a fan of Canadian cinema, but in this case, bravo - it's a really great film. However, I have two reservations: first, some of the dialogue feels heavy at times, and second, the fact that the only girl in the gang accuses Murray of sleeping with her while she was working the streets feels out of place and not very believable. That being said, the film is innovative on several levels, and I'd recommend it to fans of new genres who are tired of the same old American cinema.
