Detective Virgil Tibbs is back, this time investigating the brutal murder of a prostitute in San Francisco. When suspicion is cast on his friend, a local activist pastor who has been trying to clean up the city, Tibbs goes into overdrive to solve the case. This is the second of Poitier's three Virgil Tibbs films.
