    The Truth Is Out There

    Info

    2011     Biography documentary

For the past fifty years, conspiracy theories have become an ever-more-prevalent topic of discussion and cause for alarm, growing into a truly global phenomenon. And for the past two decades, actor-comic-inventor Dean Haglund has had a front-row seat to this growing phenomenon. As the computer-hacking Richard "Ringo" Langly (one of the three publishers of The Lone Gunmen newspaper aimed at uncovering the truth THEY don't want us to know), Dean starred on nine seasons of The X-Files, as well as a spin-off series, The Lone Gunmen.

An actor-comic-writer-producer-painter-inventor, Dean Haglund is every bit as authentic a truth-seeker as the fictional pop culture icon he played for so many years. The feature-length documentary The Truth Is Out There examines what it's like to live life so closely identified with a particular role, especially one that exists so fervently in the popular imagination of the conspiracy culture.
