The Souffleur

For three decades, Lucius (Willem Dafoe) has presided over Vienna's iconic Hotel InterContinental, a once-grand establishment now faded from its former glory. To Lucius, the hotel is his entire world -- his identity woven into its every detail, from the restaurant's failing soufflé to the champagne served at the historic bar. He treats his staff, including his daughter Lilly, as family. But when an Argentine businessman (filmmaker Gastón Solnicki) reveals plans to purchase the hotel, Lucius spirals into paranoia. As he clings to memories of bygone splendor and plots against the new owner, he begins to realize he belongs to a disappearing era.
