Info
A night bus full of strangers cruises out of the urban centre, eventually finding their surroundings to be entirely deserted -- aside from some barely glimpsed enigmatic figures in gas masks roaming the streets. Panicked, the characters band together (rather uneasily, it should be noted) and try to uncover the mystery of what has happened. Holed up in a restaurant, they butt heads over what to do next. Arguments, power struggles, and, um, stabbings ensue. Oh! And there's a fantastic musical sequence set to David Bowie's "Space Oddity." Bolstered by brilliant actors like Lam Suet (a perennial presence in the cinema of fellow master Johnnie To) and Simon Yam, the film is chock full of quirky characters and even quirkier directorial flare. If you're looking for subtlety, look elsewhere. For sheer entertainment, this is your ideal destination.
