The Long Walk

In a dystopian future, America languishes under a military dictatorship, where a brutal annual contest grips the nation. One hundred young men are chosen through a lottery to participate in a grueling walking race, forced to maintain a pace of at least four miles per hour without rest. Under the watchful eyes of soldiers and live television cameras, the competitors face dire consequences: three warnings lead to elimination by a mobile firing squad. As the race progresses, the field narrows, revealing the boys' characters, friendships, hopes, and fears. The last one standing claims the ultimate prize, whatever his heart desires for the rest of his life.
