Valerie and Doug (Cat Cohen & Aristotle Athari), a couple in their 30s, share a cramped New York City apartment, constantly irritated by their noisy downstairs neighbors, a younger pair (Chloe Cherry & Jon Rudnitsky) who argue incessantly and belt out karaoke. Though frustrated, Valerie and Doug grow fixated on deciphering the neighbors' tumultuous relationship. Eventually, they escape the chaos by relocating to the suburbs, hoping to refocus on careers and friendships. Before leaving, they plot revenge. With help from a theater-savvy friend, Wendy (Ruby McCollister), they stage a fake play to embarrass one neighbor, Mary, an actress. Yet, as they dive into theater, they begin to see artistry as their true passion.
