    Set during World War II, exiled German monarch Kaiser Wilhelm II (Christopher Plummer) is living on a secluded estate in the Netherlands. German soldier Stefan Brandt (Jai Courtney), sent to ferret out Dutch spies, begins investigating the Kaiser and his wife (Janet McTeer), but finds himself drawn to a mysterious housemaid (Lily James).
