In this sequel to the 1942 horror classic *Cat People*, young Amy, the daughter of Oliver and Alice Reed, struggles with the boundary between fantasy and reality. Isolated from peers her own age, she conjures an imaginary friend in the form of her father's deceased first wife, Irena. Around the same time, Amy forms a bond with Julia Farren, an aging, reclusive actress distanced from her own daughter, Barbara. As Amy's imagination blurs with the real world, her connections to both Irena and Julia weave a narrative steeped in fantasy, diverging from the horror roots of its predecessor into a more whimsical, yet unsettling, exploration of loneliness and illusion.
