Aiyana Elliott follows her father, who was born as Elliott Adnopoz to middle-class Jewish parents in Brooklyn but became folk music legend Ramblin' Jack Elliott. Mixing between archival and contemporary footage, she tells the story of a man in love with the Old West, who ran away to join a rodeo at 14, learned from Woody Guthrie, and mentored Bob Dylan. At the same time, she struggles to better understand her often-absent and seemingly elusive father.
