Concerned that his shy, stuttering son (Lewis) isn't living up to the heteronormative ideals of college life in early-1950s America, a domineering businessman (Eddie Mayehoff) strikes a deal with the campus football hero (Martin): make a man of his boy, and he'll pay Martin's tuition.
