Slightly Dangerous

At 21, Peggy Evans finds herself trapped in a monotonous life, marked by a certificate for punctuality after 1000 days of work. Craving change, she leaves behind a note mistaken for a suicide message and escapes to New York. There, a dramatic makeover and a bizarre accident lead to her being mistaken for an amnesia victim in the local paper, which speculates she might be a missing heiress, Carol Burden. As she digs into past newspaper issues for clues, Peggy must outsmart Cornelius Burden, who has imprisoned numerous impostors, and his associate Baba. Simultaneously, she works to prevent her former manager, Bob Stuart, from revealing her true identity.
