Though they were like brothers as children, Chuck Jarvis (Rock Hudson) and Billy Massey (Dean Martin) go their separate ways when Chuck marries Kate (Susan Clark), the woman they both love. They find themselves on opposite sides of the law when Chuck becomes a sheriff and sets out to find Billy, who is now a bank robber.
