From the moment Garth Drabinsky was forced to negotiate the icy sidewalks of Toronto in crippling leg braces at the age of 8 as a result of polio, he knew he had to achieve greatness at any price. He would take no prisoners and attempt to fly as close to the sun as possible without getting burnt.

Drabinsky won his place as one of the world's most flamboyant show business moguls, reigning over two entertainment empires (Cineplex, Livent) over the last 30 years and amassing a stunning win of 19 Tony awards on Broadway. But that drive to succeed at any cost also saw Drabinsky embark on a self destructive path. He would break the rules, crush his competitors, rewrite history and force his own destiny.

Along with the adulation Drabinsky enjoyed over his artistic successes came lethal doses of controversy and resentment fuelled by his aggressive and ruthless moves against powerful business rivals like MCA Universal Chairman Lew Wasserman and President Sid Sheinberg and desperate measures to cover up losses at Livent uncovered during the company's sale to uber agent Michael Ovitz resulting in a jail sentence for years of fraudulent accounting.
