Sarah's Oil

In the early 1900s, in Oklahoma Indian Territory, an eleven-year-old African American girl named Sarah Rector (Naya Desir-Johnson) holds a steadfast belief that oil lies beneath the barren land she has been allotted. Her conviction is soon validated when oil is discovered, transforming her life overnight. As opportunistic oil speculators attempt to seize control of her valuable property, Sarah relies on the support of her family, friends, and a group of Texas wildcatters to protect her interests. Through determination and resilience, she secures her claim, ultimately rising to become one of the nation's first female African American millionaires at a remarkably young age.
