Real women take chances, have flaws, embrace life...and have curves. For 18-year-old Ana, not everybody appreciates the direction in which her appetites are taking her.

Ana, a first-generation Mexican-American from East L.A., struggles to strike a balance between her mainstream ambitions of attending college and her traditional cultural heritage--as personified by Ana's needy mother, who wants the girl to work at the family's sewing factory.
