Albert Brooks (played by Albert Brooks) is a desperate filmmaker hoping to capture a slice of American life. Armed with state-of-the-art equipment and misguided moxie, Brooks and his crew follow the Yeagers, a typical suburban family whose lives are turned upside-down.
