Radioactive Dreams

Philip Chandler and Marlowe Hammer are two lifelong friends bonded over their mutual love of hard-boiled detective novels, swing, and the fact that they both grew up in the same underground nuclear fallout shelter. When The Big One does finally come, they're two of the only people on Earth who aren't turned into hideous mutant freaks, and they emerge from their comfortable Eisenhower-inflected isolation to find the world to be much, much different than the one they spent their entire lives reading about.
