Pigen med nålen

Young seamstress Karoline faces hardship when her husband goes missing and is presumed dead during the war. Unable to pay the rent, she is evicted from their home in Copenhagen. Struggling with destitution and soon discovering she is pregnant by another man who cannot marry her, Karoline becomes captivated by the charismatic Dagmar Overbye, a candy-store owner who offers her a home, a job, and a solution to her troubles. However, Karoline soon realizes that her problems are far from over.
