Pennies From Heaven is an offbeat film about a man struggling to define himself during the great depression of the 1930s. Steve Martin plays a traveling salesman whose love affair with Bernadette Peters sets them both on different, yet intersecting paths of confused delirium. Part musical, part tragedy, part comedy, this movie is artsy-film noir at its most atypical.
