In a mysterious forest far from China's borders, which they've left behind, painter Meng Huang and writer Ma Jian talk about exile, political struggles, and using art to counter oppression and deceit. Ma Jian resides in London as a dissident and renowned author, whose works are translated into numerous languages. Since 2011, he's been barred from returning to China because all his books are banned there. Meng Huang, a celebrated painter, lives in Berlin, having chosen to be in exile.
