A young woman (Lotte Verbeek) sits in a window, watching people pick through the items she has left on the pavement before she takes off her wedding ring. We next see her wandering the Irish countryside, camping in a small tent, sometimes picking through garbage for food. She comes upon what appears to be an abandoned cottage that has access to wonderful music and a warm place to sleep. When Martin (Stephen Rea), the owner of the cottage appears, the two make an unstable agreement that Martin will feed her as long as she works the garden. Slowly, the two introverts become more comfortable with each other, possibly finding that the human connection they had been lacking.
