Não Por Acaso

Ênio is a middle-aged, divorced traffic engineer who lives alone -- or, more to the point, in the past, where his ex-wife dwells. Methodical to a fault, he loses himself in his work, which affords him a sense of direction and command his emotions do not. Pedro is a 30-something snooker shark whose girlfriend, Teresa, is about to move in with him. Pedro approaches life just as he approaches the billiard table: with the assumption that he can predict any outcome based on a series of mathematical equations.

But these two strangers are about to bid farewell to the aspect of control their lives have long depended on -- and meet fate in its place. Losing the women they love in the same car accident, Ênio and Pedro will finally be forced to accept change and, more importantly, embrace chance -- finding that even as it robs them of what's most precious, it can repay them with something wholly unexpected.
