Family matriarch Berthe (Marthe Villalonga) faces health challenges and moves in with her daughter Emilie (Catherine Deneuve), a reserved professional residing in an upscale home in Toulouse with her husband Bruno (Jean-Pierre Bouvier), her daughter Anne (Chiara Mastroianni), and her adopted son Lucien (Anthony Prada). The holiday season brings Emilie's estranged brother Antoine (Daniel Auteuil) for a visit, marking their first encounter since their father's funeral three years prior. Antoine's arrival introduces tension, particularly with Bruno, and stirs unresolved emotional issues from the past, leading to intense confrontations.
