A young Indian woman works in a spice store in San Francisco. She is an expert is spicelogy, which is like astrology with spices. She uses her spices to help her customers. One day, she helps a young man after a motorcycle accident, and he is soon dating her. But this has a disasterous effect on her life, as the spices are angry and jealous, and take it out on her customers. She has to choose between her beloved spices, and the man she is starting to love.
