''THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MUSIC IN HIS HEART TO MAKE HIS LIFE DANCE.'' Télé-Québec aired on July 14th, for the French national holiday, the excellent feature film by Robert Guediguian, Marius & Jeannette. Let's not forget that without this television channel, the world's cinematic gaze on our screens would be greatly diminished! Thus, we had the chance to once again taste the mythical beauty of Marseille, its inhabitants, and their delightful accents! A magnifying glass on Bouches-du-Rhône, to extract the essential tenderness. L'Estaque, a working-class neighborhood in Marseille, indeed, but also a microclimate of all humanity, where daily life, love, teasing, drinking, discounted panties, and the sound of cicadas are the scenes of delicious exchanges! A celebration of life as it often seems to blind us; its joys close to the heart and its worn-down misfortunes that sometimes come to further damage us. Anyone who has known someone from Marseille knows how exquisite and full of humor and splendor these people are! To be honest, we literally fall in love as soon as they lay their charms on our being! A unique, inhabitable intoxication that deeply touches us. This is what this film shows us; pigmented and picturesque beings whose complicity always seems to be the result of a miracle. How can one not be charmed by a city nestled beside the Mediterranean, in one of the most beautiful places in France, if not on the planet! From this place, we feel a fierce attachment, a fruitful friendship that is somehow one of the most truthful celebrations of the vital feeling. There are Marius and Jeannette everywhere on earth, for love often emerges from the ruins of the past. It is always possible to love, to find someone who will embrace our soul with their wonderful simplicity. Life is certainly tragic, but between the first mountain and the final valley, there are friends, moments, and lovers who return. PATRICK LÉVEILLÉ, WRITER, POET.

The accent, the scenery, and the atmosphere of the South, the most charming film I've seen in a long time! Strong friendships, a touching love story without being cheesy, a thousand everyday details, Guédiguian has a style of his own that I really appreciate. A film that leaves you feeling happy...
