Entertainers Candy (Doris Day), Hap (Phil Silvers), Duke (Eddie Foy, Jr.) and Flo (Nancy Walker) had expected a booking in a Florida hotel, instead they are working as domestics to pay their way -- until handsome songwriter Dick Carson (Robert Cummings) checks in. Now with the cast and the show, all they need is a backer to head to New York, which they find in the millionaire father (Bill Goodwin) of Lorraine Thayer (Martha Hyer), who has eyes for Dick... The only problem is that Candy is also starting to fall for the songwriter.
