Amy Jones's first film was The Slumber Party Massacre. For her second, she made something personal, and cast "scream queen" Jamie Lee Curtis in her first non-generic role. Shortly after Anna (Curtis) loses her mother she comes across a trove of love letters, evidence that her mother had an extramarital affair that went on for years. We hear the letters, and it's clear that her lover was a man of intelligence and sensitivity, a finer man, Anna thinks, than her father. At the same time, Anna is drawn to a photographer (James Keach), an attractive but a married man. Inspired in part by the letters, Anna allows herself to sleep with him, and more, to fall in love. But the parallels don't run as far as she would like...
