The documentary explores the images of Black women in society. Experts say the Black community is the minority most affected by stereotypical images created centuries ago. Black women, all acclaimed leaders in their fields, tell of the challenges such representations bring to their lives. Their compelling stories are supported by never-before-seen archival footage from the 1800s to the present day. The feature documentary gives voice to 21 protagonists who share their inspiring and passionate stories. Coming from different backgrounds and generations, these women - experts, artists, intellectuals, activists - offer a poignant portrait of what it means to be a Black woman in the 21st century.
