Le colonel Chabert

Colonel Chabert is severely injured during the French-Russian Napoleonic war, leading to the issuance of his death certificate by a medical examiner. After recovering his health and memory, he returns to Paris to find that his wife, Anne, has remarried Count Ferraud and is using Chabert's money to support the Count's ascent in society. Determined to reclaim his rightful assets and restore his reputation, Chabert enlists the help of a lawyer.
