The film follows the bus journey of three-generation members of a Guevarist group called Juventud Libre (Free Youth). Gathering people from multiple horizons, this group once crossed the "Che's Route" on foot through the Bolivian mountains to understand the sacrifice that Che and his companions had to make. Today, almost 20 years after their first experience, the troop is preparing to return to its own footsteps and those of the last months of Che's life, as depicted in his diary. All together, they search for what they call "the essence of Che". In parallel, we follow a group of young Bolivian anarchist muralists who use their art to pay homage to Comandante Guevara.
