William Travers is a successful attorney with a dark past. Once a high profile lawyer in London, a life-changing trial in which he won a case for a guilty man, caused him a nervous breakdown, leaving the metropolis for good and settling for a peaceful life in Ipswich. Now, in a quieter city, he defends the underdog and never takes a case if he doesn't believe in the innocence of his clients.
