I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang

Down-on-his-luck soldier James Allen, an innocent man who accidentally gets caught up in a robbery and is subsequently sentenced to a long, hard stint on the chain gang. Unable to cope with an environment of constant back-breaking labor and abuse, Allen decides on escape as his only rational choice. His flight from the chain gang stirs up a rabid man hunt that leaves him in a state of constant paranoia and vulnerability, leading to an utterly tragic conclusion.
