House of Women

An innocent, pregnant young woman (Shirley Knight) is wrongfully convicted and sent to a maximum-security prison. After giving birth in the prison, she is told that if she earns parole within five years, she can keep her child; otherwise, it will be given up for adoption. Meanwhile the prison warden finds her attractive, and when the five years is up, he denies her parole and tells all prison mothers that their children will be taken away. But his announcement sparks a bloody riot that threatens to tear the prison apart.
