This twisty noir focuses on Steven Kenet (Robert Taylor), a bomber pilot who returns home and follows his wife to the home of her boss. After a blackout, with the body of his wife in the trunk of his car, he drives into a river, attempting to kill himself. At the hospital, Dr. Ann Lorrison (Audrey Totter) discovers a blood clot in Steven's brain and encourages him to have it removed. He has the surgery, but still can't remember what happened the night of his wife's murder. When more bodies turn up, Steven is forced to go on the run with Dr. Lorrison to escape the authorities long enough to recover his memory and determine if he is the killer.
