Academy Award winners Norma Shearer and George Sanders star with Robert Taylor in a big-screen adaptation of Jacque Deval's classic stage farce, Dans sa candeur naïve, Her Cardboard Lover. When wealthy Consuelo Croyden (Shearer) starts to think her boyfriend, Tony Barling (Sanders), is losing interest in her, she orders her personal secretary, Terry Trindale (Taylor), to pretend to court her and make jealous ... an assignment that Trindale, who has secretly been in love with Croyden for years, has no problem fulfilling!
