In the bloody England of the Tudor era, Katherine Parr, the sixth and final wife of King Henry VIII, is appointed regent while the tyrant Henry fights abroad. When the king returns, Katherine is persecuted for her Protestant beliefs, risking everything for a future without tyranny.
