"FATAL MWMORIES" is a disturbing psychological thriller/mystery but unfortunately it never lives up to that expectation. In this very bizarre drama a woman tries to help her once "locked up" sister to remember the events surrounding the fatal stabbing of the mother. The feature is never on solid ground with a very poor to weak script, a number of 1 dimensional characters and a serious lack of tension for a murder/thriller. It is only when the released sister (suspected murderer) starts to act up does FATAL MEMORIES come close to anything exciting or enthralling - that is already at the half way mark so "exciting and enthralling" this film never does truly become. It's a 50/50 proposition with my belief leaning more on the several negative aspects of the film to ever make me think at all highly of it.

This is a Canadian TV movie filmed in British Columbia. Mental illness is once again at the heart of the story. The main characters are found within a family unit: a brilliant lawyer named Sutton and her mentally unstable sister, April. The plot is easy to figure out right from the beginning of the movie. This thriller takes some shortcuts: the love scene is glossed over, as is the brake failure, among other things. The murder mystery is solved quickly. Kevin McNulty, who plays Orly, was the only familiar face to me in the cast.
