But they are crazy, these French! This police comedy doesn't take itself too seriously. An overexcited cop goes from hero to zero after his death. The wrongs caused by this scoundrel must be righted. I really liked the scenes during the visit to the sadomasochists and also the passage through the gallery of horrors. The film seemed a bit too long to me, but it's not my kind of movie. I enjoyed seeing Audrey Tautou in a supporting role. Most of the characters are crazier than the next. They are caricatures and seem to be drawn from a comic strip. There are good and some villains.

The French dramedy "EN LIBERTE" presents us with the unusual problem of a wife's discovery that her husband is complicit (actually he is the guilty party) in the prison sentence of a young man, Antoine. What is totally absurd about the situation is that she wants to help free the innocent man but NOT at the expense of telling THE TRUTH. The mayhem that follows makes for a very entertaining comedy/drama.

A light film, nothing more. Sometimes funny, but rather poorly organized in terms of the plot.

Not great, but there are worse. Watch on DVD if you have nothing else to do...

Very pleasant surprise. Original, very good screenplay, and impeccable actors. A must-see!

A very successful comedy that uses fairly absurd humor but really makes us laugh and where everything falls into place in the end. The theater was full, which adds to the pleasure of a comedy. You come out feeling like you had a good time.

I can't understand how this film could have received good reviews in some newspapers! Some scattered ideas amidst a jumble of contrived situations. Don't rely on the trailer which suggests a wacky comedy. We are very, very far from that...

    Sadly, a complete flop!

On paper, the story seemed interesting, following the widow of a now deceased police officer, learning that he was corrupt and had wrongly convicted an innocent man. On her release from prison, she decides to help him get back on his feet. In reality, this film is insipid, the story goes nowhere, the characters are caricatured, and it's a waste of time to watch such a dud. I notice that the distributor MK2 mile-end tends to present more duds than masterpieces; I will consider this information for my future film choices.

This film is unbelievably bad! The plot is convoluted, the actors try their best to find the right tone, but they themselves don't know how to play it; comedy or drama. I laughed at one point in the movie; it is far from 'Sens De La Fête'. A total waste of time...
