El Naturalista Isleño

Documentary series that explores the hidden natural histories of islands. Led by renowned conservation photographer, Eladio Fernández, we learn that islands are hotspots for undocumented biodiversity, but that richness is in a race against time. Deforestation, mining, poverty, and corrupt governments threaten the species Eladio is fighting to preserve. Obsessive in his quest to document nature, Eladio investigates a remote humpback whale breeding area, discovers dozens of pornographic flowers, rescues a critically endangered hawk, and unearths a lost Magnolia in Haiti.
