In 1932, Alice Liddell Hargreaves, age 80, travels to New York to attend a celebration of Lewis Carroll's centenary. As the inspiration for Carroll's classic book, the characters who once amused her haunt the aging Alice and she starts to consider how her relationship with the shy author/professor (Ian Holm) has changed her.
