    Dick Tracy (Morgan Conway) has to crack a case when a series of murder victims starts turning up. Ultimately, he determines that they are linked to escaped convict Splitface (Mike Mazurki). Seeking vengeance, Splitface is hunting down those who have wronged him. Splitface holds Tracy's girlfriend, Tess (Anne Jeffreys) hostage to keep the ace detective from sending him back to prison.
