Darkman

Neglecting Julie (Frances McDormand), his lawyer lady friend, Dr. Peyton Westlake (Liam Neeson) works feverishly to perfect artificial skin for burn victims. He falls victim to an explosion when henchmen from one of Julie's crooked clients raid his lab for an incriminating document. Hideously disfigured and left for dead, Westlake receives an experimental treatment that grants him super strength, imperviousness to pain, and fits of rage. Rebuilding his lab into an underground hideout, he uses the synthetic skin to impersonate others and exact revenge, though reconnecting with Julie proves his greatest challenge.
