Info
Honoré Blanchard, 85, earned his living cleaning up bodies for the mob and as a freshwater fisherman. He lives with his son Fernand, operator of a "gaz bar" in Coteau Rouge: Ekonogaz. Ekonogaz offers low prices but, more importantly, is neighbor to a large pétanque alley where the local association of pétanque players meets. Fernand has two children: Hélène and Henri. Hélène is married to an unscrupulous promoter, Éric Miljours, who wants to raze Coteau Rouge and turn it into an upscale development. Hélène is the only Blanchard not living in Coteau Rouge. Because she is unable to have children of her own, Hélène's mother, Micheline, accepts to help her and to act as a surrogate. Henri lives with Estelle. He borrowed $ 125,000 from his brother-in-law for Estelle to take experimental treatments in Mexico. They have a 15-year-old son, Alexis, who, fed up with the family's hard-up circumstances, has decided to start a company that offers environmental manual mowing. Éric is not welcome in Coteau Rouge as he has his sights set on a major project: a 128-storey condominium tower on Île aux fesses.
