    Sgt. Sullivan (Lee Van Cleef) puts together a group of Italian-Americans in disguise as Italian soldiers in order to infiltrate a German African Corps camp managed by the Italians. After the commandos have killed most of the Italians based there, Sullivan's commandos are to hold this camp and its weaponry until an American battalion arrives. However, a German tank column turns up for refueling.
