After killing a sheriff in self-defense during a skirmish in an 'all- white' saloon, Chato, an embittered Apache half-breed, is pursued across the parched Western desert by a disreputable, ragtag white posse led by an ex-Confederate officer. Eventually, the pursued and the pursuers will become reversed after some members of the posse rape Chato's squaw--an act that will convert Chato into a savage, vengeful warrior. Living off rattlesnakes and using every natural and unnatural tool of the desert, he will pick off his racist pursuers one by one...
